Carla is an experienced practitioner in Queensland’s communication industry with a proven ability to identify newsworthy angles and deliver consistently high quality results.
During her seven years of experience, she has worked with organisations such as Brisbane Marketing, Queensland Events, Wilson HTM Investment Group, Trysoft Corporation, Energy Developments Ltd, and Skilling Australia.
As Communication Executive at the Brisbane City Council's tourism bureau, Brisbane Marketing, Carla carried out media relations and corporate writing activities for the conventions and incentive meetings and general travel industry. She also developed and implemented a highly-successful communication program for Brisbane Food and Wine Month, a campaign designed to raise the profile of Brisbane's dining scene among residents of Melbourne and Sydney.
Thriving on new strategic challenges, Carla has developed strong relations with Brisbane and national media and has worked extensively on all elements of public relations - corporate writing, media relations and communication planning. She brings a positive and creative approach to every task.
In addition to providing strategic communication and marketing support to a number of businesses, Carla is also commissioning editor of ‘CELEBRATE’ – a bi-annual Queensland Events commercial magazine which is distributed throughout Queensland to promote the state’s government-supported events such as the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Port Douglas Carnivale.
Carla is an Associate Member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) and was awarded the 2004 New Practitioner of the Year Award (QLD). She has two daughters, an expensive passion for shoes and a very patient husband.
