In 2007, Woods Bagot, a leading architectural and design firm enlisted STA Communication to act as the Queensland connection in its global marketing strategy, to assist with media relations advice and implementation in the Queensland market.

The global approach was driven by Woods Bagot’s London office, with coordination across four continents to ensure elements of the global marketing strategy were rolled out in a consistent manner around the world.

Woods Bagot staff, and consultants worked together across the UK, Middle East, Asia and Australia to develop positioning, key message strategy, developing an ideas bank of media stories that could be shared across borders, and coordinating the roll out of Woods Bagot’s defining marketing initiative, the PUBLIC series.

PUBLIC, a collection of direction pieces and case studies from a new generation of thinkers and designers, was launched globally by Woods Bagot in 2007 to provide a formal focus to the research the Firm undertakes in three key market sectors – education, workplace and lifestyle.

STA first established a media communication plan to manage media activities throughout the state, but consistent with global and national priorities. This encompassed proactive development of media angles, organising and implementing interviews and photo opportunities, and preparation of media materials to ensure the timely announcement of newsworthy activities, including feature stories, announcements of project milestones, tender wins, launches of the PUBLIC series, and new executive appointments.
